Such a Sweet Face

Adison took a 2 1/2 hour nap this morning. It was wonderful. I had a busy day ahead of me and I was able to knock out a lot of things. I went in to peek on him, and this is what I saw. Isn't that face precious? When he naps, I tend to miss him so I go in and check on him about every 10-15 minutes! This will be my last post until after Christmas. We have a busy day tomorrow with the Youth Christmas Party and then Saturday morning we are heading to NC. I'm so excited. We'll be spending Christmas with my parents, my sisters, and their husbands and kids. From our family to yours...we hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

Roll Baby Roll

The first two pictures are "just because." When Jon got home from work today we took them just because Adison was in a picture takin' mood! As for the video, once he figured out he could roll....he's been a wiggle worm! The past 2 nights he's slept 8 solid hours. Wednesday night, I went in to check on him and he was asleep on his tummy! (I always lay him on his back when I put him to bed...) We have a busy week ahead of us next week and next weekend we leave for NC for Christmas. Hope you all have a great weekend! Enjoy!

Getting Stronger!!!

In the picture above Adison is 2 1/2 months old. As you can see he's leaning a little to the right. However, take a look at him sitting in his Bumbo this afternoon....

...much better head control! (He's 4 months now for those of you who didn't see the previous post)

And as you can see he's getting better at lifting his head while on his tummy!! Growing up fast!

Happy 4 Months, Adison!

Handsome Boy...

Jon and I took Adison to Portrait Innovations on Friday to have his picture taken for the first time. He did so good! I had to take a picture of the prints in order to get them on here (we didn't buy a CD). So if the pictures are a little blurry, that's why. Hope you enjoy!

Blessed

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We all have so much to be thankful for. Here are a few pictures from our Thanksgiving day. By the way, we had an excellent fried turkey (thank you Bouler's).

Early Christmas for Adison

Here recently Adison has not been interested in sitting, instead he's been interested in standing. If Jon and I would let him, he'd stand on our laps indefinitely. Well, with that being said, last night we went to Target for diapers. As usual, we took a browse through the toy section and saw this Baby Einstein Activity Center and Jumper. We actually placed Adison in the display to see what his response would be. He looked so intrigued by all the many colors and various toys surrounding him. Not to mention the fact that he was standing "on his own." Daddy and I couldn't resist. We put it in the buggy! We got home last night and Daddy put it together. Adison is actually in it this very moment while I type this and he absolutely LOVES it. Adison used to be a cuddler, not so much anymore. He's becoming more and more independent. The picture above the toy is one of his new car seat cozy cover. He wasn't quite sure what to think at first but he got used to it rather quickly! Cute! Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!

(Sorry dad isn't looking at the camera! This is the only recent picture I have of my parents together.)

We try to take Adison's picture before church every Sunday. Typically he's moved on to another outfit by the time Sunday school is over. He looks so handsome in red. This handsome outfit was a gift from Adrienne Usher. I thought he'd never fit into those "big" 3 months clothes and now he's in them....

Adison is taking a nap so I have a minute to post some more pictures. Just a couple to tide you over until next time... :)

I tell you what, he's been talking up a storm today. He must have a lot to tell me today because he's cooed since he got up this morning. By the way, he slept all night again last night (8 hours). He's such a good boy!

Happy Wednesday!

Adison's First Zoo Trip

This past week was Mission's Conference at our church. On Saturday, Jon and I were given the opporunity to take one of the missionaries and his kids to the zoo, along with two of the children from our church and Adison, of course. Here are a few pictures from that event. It was quite chilly out but everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. Adison slept most of the time, so we'll have to take another trip when he gets a little older! Enjoy the pictures!

2 Nights in a Row

Adison has been doing so good at night. For the past 2 nights he's slept solid through the night. Wednesday night I put him to bed at 10:00 and he didn't wake up until 6:30 for a feeding. Last night I put him to bed at 10:30 and he woke up this morning at 6:30 for a feeding. I'm so proud of him. The past two mornings Jon and I have rushed into his nursery to make sure he's okay! I was always warned that when he did sleep through the night for the first time, that we'd rush in to see if he was okay...and we did! God has blessed us with such a sweet baby. Here are a few more recent pictures of our little bundle of joy.Hope everyone has a great weekend! Enjoy!

Happy 3 Months, Adison!

3 months already! Hard to believe isn't it? Well, these pictures were taken today. Our little boy is growing up so fast. Sometime in the near future we are going to take him to Portrait Innovations to get his picture taken. I cannot wait. He's been getting better every day at holding up his head while on his belly...a couple of times he's been able to roll over from his belly to his back. I'll try to catch it on film sometime soon and post it. Enjoy these pictures!

Full House

Adison loved sitting with his Papaw and watching hunting. While we were visiting, Papaw explained to Adison the difference between a white tail deer and a mule deer... he's learning early!

Sittin' on Mamaw's lap in the front yard while all the other children ran around like crazy! One day he'll be running around with them.

Isn't that smile precious?

When we went to WFU, this was one of the ladies we went to visit. Suzanne is my former boss and a dear friend of mine. With it being Halloween and her working in the Pediatric department, she was one of many that was dressed up for the occasion. Adison loved looking at her blue hair!!! (Note for Jamie: This looks awefully natural...Suz needs one of her own!)

There's that cute face again. He's all bundled up because we're outside in downtown Kernersville letting the other kids trick-or-treat at all the little shops as you'll see in the next few photos.

Now, Ashlyn, my niece pictured above is almost 3 years old. She thought Adison was hers! If anyone else was holding him she thought it was her turn. It was absolutely precious. Saturday night my sister and Ashlyn helped me give Adison a bath and oh did she have a time with it!

I couldn't resist putting this picture on the blog. The pretty little girl on the left is my niece Ashlyn and the other pretty little girl on the right is my niece Leah. Its rare to catch a photo this good of little ones because they move around so much. Lucky shot.
And finally, Mamaw and Papaw with all 7 of their grandchildren. It's hard to believe there's 7 of them. Every one of them (including Adison) love visiting Mamaw and Papaw's house. And I tell you, when we're all there, it's truly a FULL HOUSE!!!!!

We're Back!

We're back in town. Our trip to Mamaw and Papaw's was absolutely wonderful, it was just too short. Thursday afternoon we arrived around 1:30pm into Charlotte. Mamaw and Papaw were there to pick us up. That evening Mamaw and Papaw just enjoyed spending time with Adison at the house. Friday morning mom and I woke up and took Adison to see a good friend/co-worker of my mom's and then we went by my old workplace, Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Adison was able to meet several of my dear friends there. After we left WFU, we went by Babies R Us to browse around since we don't have one of those down here in Montgomery. By the time we got home that evening it was a short while before my sister Amy and her family from Lynchburg, VA arrived. My mom and sister dressed her 3 kids and we all headed down to downtown Kernersville to trick-or-treat with the kids. Saturday morning my other sister, Tracy and her family came in from Asheville, NC. We stayed at Mamaw and Papaw's the entire day, letting the kids play and enjoy spending time together. That afternoon we celebrated Titus' birthday, which is actually today, then we had an early Thanksgiving dinner as a family. My grandmother (mom's mom) came up to join us for all the fun. The next morning mom, dad and I took Adison to church. My sister's had already headed back home so the rest of Sunday was spent with Adison, loving on him. Adison loved spending time with Mamaw and Papaw and meeting his cousins and I believe they enjoyed him as well, especially little Ashlyn. We sure miss everyone!!!! Pictures are coming soon so stay tuned....

Packin for Mamaw and Papaw's House

We are spending the day today getting everything together for our trip to Mamaw and Papaw's in NC. We leave tomorrow morning and come back home on Monday, November 3. Daddy's not going to be able to make this trip with us. We sure are going to miss him! Mamaw and Papaw will be coming to the airport tomorrow to pick us up. Friday late afternoon Aunt Amy and Uncle Alan and their 3 kids will drive in to mom's from Lynchburg, VA to spend some time with us. Austin, Aiden and Ashlyn will be dressing up and going trick-or-treating that night. They will spend the night with us Friday night and then Saturday morning my other sister Tracy and her husband Mark will come in to mom's with their 3 kids: Titus, Leah and Julia. So in this trip Adison will be able to meet his uncles and all 6 of his cousins. We are so excited. I'll be sure to post plenty of pictures when we return. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
**The picture on the post today was taken a couple of Sunday's ago. Adison loves sitting up and being able to look at the world around him so we bought him this bumbo. He can't hold his head up really good yet so he doesn't like staying in there too long because he gets tired but doesn't he look adorable? You wouldn't know this by looking at the picture, but he's talking...that's the expression on his face! He puts his shoulders into it!

Thumb Sucker

Adison was taking a nap this morning and I heard a loud sucking sound coming from his nursery. I assumed he was going to town on his paci. I peeked in at him and this is what he was actually doing...going to town on that thumb! Recently he's been sucking his hands a lot. I mean, he literally tries to fit his entire fist into his mouth. Occasionally he realizes that the thumb alone is pretty good and he settles for it! It's so cute! He first started sucking his thumb in the hospital the day we left to come home. He hasn't developed the habit permanently but I won't be surprised if he does.

Sunday Afternoon

We love our family time on Sunday afternoons. Yesterday was no exception. Jonathan and I enjoyed spending time with our little bundle of joy. Here are several pics taken yesterday afternoon. In a couple of the pictures you can see Adison's new thing...blowing bubbles!! Enjoy!!
(Daddy edit: Oh and that last pic with the handsome outfit...that is what he would have looked like in church had he not pooped through the whole thing. Nice work, son).
