Packin for Mamaw and Papaw's House

We are spending the day today getting everything together for our trip to Mamaw and Papaw's in NC. We leave tomorrow morning and come back home on Monday, November 3. Daddy's not going to be able to make this trip with us. We sure are going to miss him! Mamaw and Papaw will be coming to the airport tomorrow to pick us up. Friday late afternoon Aunt Amy and Uncle Alan and their 3 kids will drive in to mom's from Lynchburg, VA to spend some time with us. Austin, Aiden and Ashlyn will be dressing up and going trick-or-treating that night. They will spend the night with us Friday night and then Saturday morning my other sister Tracy and her husband Mark will come in to mom's with their 3 kids: Titus, Leah and Julia. So in this trip Adison will be able to meet his uncles and all 6 of his cousins. We are so excited. I'll be sure to post plenty of pictures when we return. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
**The picture on the post today was taken a couple of Sunday's ago. Adison loves sitting up and being able to look at the world around him so we bought him this bumbo. He can't hold his head up really good yet so he doesn't like staying in there too long because he gets tired but doesn't he look adorable? You wouldn't know this by looking at the picture, but he's talking...that's the expression on his face! He puts his shoulders into it!

Thumb Sucker

Adison was taking a nap this morning and I heard a loud sucking sound coming from his nursery. I assumed he was going to town on his paci. I peeked in at him and this is what he was actually doing...going to town on that thumb! Recently he's been sucking his hands a lot. I mean, he literally tries to fit his entire fist into his mouth. Occasionally he realizes that the thumb alone is pretty good and he settles for it! It's so cute! He first started sucking his thumb in the hospital the day we left to come home. He hasn't developed the habit permanently but I won't be surprised if he does.

Sunday Afternoon

We love our family time on Sunday afternoons. Yesterday was no exception. Jonathan and I enjoyed spending time with our little bundle of joy. Here are several pics taken yesterday afternoon. In a couple of the pictures you can see Adison's new thing...blowing bubbles!! Enjoy!!
(Daddy edit: Oh and that last pic with the handsome outfit...that is what he would have looked like in church had he not pooped through the whole thing. Nice work, son).

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Last Monday was Daddy's birthday! We love you Daddy and we hope you had a fantastic birthday. Adison is blessed to have you as his daddy. You are an amazing husband to me and a terrific father to Adison. Thank you for being who you are. We love you!!!

2 Month Check Up

I'm so sorry it has taken me so long to post this. Adison's two month check up was on October 16. He had his first round of shots and he did excellent. You can see his little bandaids on his chubby little thigh. This picture was taken when we got home from the doctor. He cried only when he was stuck then daddy picked him up, handed him to me and he was good the rest of the day. He was a little sore that evening, but he was a big boy about it. He weighed 11lbs 15 oz at his visit....he's "packin' on the pounds" as daddy says. In this picture he was tuckered out on his daddy's lap. It was so encouraging...our Dr. prayed with us before the nurse came in to give Adison his shots. What a blessing to have such a wonderful pediatrician!

Feeding the Ducks

Last Sunday our evening service was cancelled due to it being Harvest Bowl Sunday. Jon and I took this opportunity to spend some time with Adison. We took him across the street to a pond to feed the ducks. He wasn't quite sure what he was looking at but he seemed to enjoy it. He loves being outside. If he's fussy for me, I take him out on our back porch and he immediately calms down. 100% boy, already loves the great outdoors!

Happy 2 Months, Adison!

I can't believe my little boy is 2 months old. Seems like we were just bringing him home from the hospital last week. On Monday evening we went to the hospital to visit a friend of ours that just had a beautiful baby girl. Their baby weighed exactly what Adison weighed at birth, 7 lbs 3 oz....she was so little. It was hard to believe Adison had grown so much in only 2 months. We walked by my recovery room where we spent 3 days after Adison's birth...that room holds precious memories to us. Several times we would be alone in the room, Daddy, Adison and me and Daddy and I would just cry at the precious bundle of joy we were blessed to hold in our arms and call "our son." We love him more and more each day AND he gets cuter every day...we just want to SQUEEZE him!!!! Say a prayer, next Thursday we take a trip to see Dr. Simon for his 2 month check-up. The Lord truly blessed us with a fantastic Christian physician. We've not had one visit yet where he hasn't quoted scripture. However, next week Adison isn't going to like him too much, he'll be receiving his first round of shots. Pray for baby Adison and for Mommy and Daddy who have to stand by and watch! This picture was taken this morning. If you can't read the shirt it says, "smart as a fox." :) Happy 2 months my precious son!

Too Many to Post

I feel bad bragging about my kid....but I will anyways. We have so much trouble picking out the cutest pics...they are all adorable. Here are the latest....

Wanted- Junior Underwear Model

In the middle of his usual stretching, daddy caught this pose. If you didn't know any better, you'd swear he struck this one on purpose. Adison likes being in the buff. Mommy and Daddy are going to have to do something about that. (Editors Note: briefs were added by daddy for modesty purposes).
EDIT: The underwear were drawn using Photoshop...No, those are not real.

Caught by Surprise

Quite a shock to the backside.

Farewell Wilbur and Petunia

Sunday afternoon Adison attended his first pig pickin' immediately following the Sunday morning service. Harvest Bowl Sunday is one Sunday out of the year that we dress casually to church wearing our favorite football team apparel. Thanks to Wilbur and Petunia many Calvary members and guests alike were able to enjoy some amazing roasted pork. For those of us (myself included) who couldn't bare to eat the pork after watching Bill Coon pull it from the crisp pig, we were able to enjoy some roasted chicken. By the way, this was Adison's first time wearing jeans, he looked so handsome!!!
